iPhone 16 Pro Max Rumors: Bigger Screens, Redesigned Camera Module Revealed

iPhone 16 Pro Max Expected Later This Year with Larger Display

Reports suggest that the iPhone 16 Pro Max, anticipated to launch later this year, will feature a larger display than Apple’s current flagship, the iPhone 15 Pro Max. Recently, images of a dummy unit for the rumored handset were leaked online, providing a comparison with the iPhone 15 Pro Max. According to these leaked images, the new iPhone could have a slightly larger screen. Additionally, the iPhone 16 series is rumored to include a dedicated ‘Capture’ button, as seen in the photos shared by a tipster on X (formerly Twitter).

Significant Design Changes Expected in iPhone 16 Series

The iPhone 16 series could see major design and display size changes. New leaks suggest that the Pro models—the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max—will feature larger displays, while the non-Pro models—the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus—might have a new camera alignment. If these changes are accurate, it would break Apple’s three-year streak of consistent design and display sizes for its smartphones. Notably, the iPhone 16 series is also rumored to feature capacitive buttons.

New Design and Display Sizes Highlighted in Latest Leak

Tipster Sonny Dickson shared images on X (formerly Twitter) revealing the new design and display sizes. According to the images, the iPhone 16 Pro might have a 6.3-inch display, compared to the 6.1-inch display on the iPhone 15 Pro. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is expected to feature a 6.9-inch display, up from the 6.7-inch display of its predecessor. The iPhone 16 is likely to keep its 6.1-inch display, while the iPhone 16 Plus will retain the same 6.7-inch display as its predecessor.

Mixed Reactions to Display Size Changes

While the potential increase in display size might please some users, fans of smaller phones could be disappointed. However, the display size is not the only change. The non-Pro models are also expected to have a different camera alignment. Instead of the diagonal alignment seen in the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus might feature a vertically aligned camera module, similar to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 12. Additionally, the LED flash appears to be positioned outside the module, setting it apart from previous models.
